Final QB Index Rankings: Where in the Top-10 Does Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence Land?
Just how good was Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2022?
Simply put, he was one of the NFL's top passers from Week 1 all the way until the season's final game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. In a quarterback-drive league, Lawrence showed the ability to fulfill his potential as one of the NFL's brightest young stars.
As a result of his performance throughout his Pro Bowl campaign, Lawrence earned a top-10 ranking from NFL.com's season-long quarterback index, coming in at No. 6.
The only passers in front of Lawrence? Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Justin Herbert, who Lawrence beat twice in 2022.
"Brimming with potential, Lawrence flowered into something rare under the watch of Doug Pederson. With what we know about the Urban Meyer disaster, Lawrence's rookie season didn't exist in terms of valuable takeaways,"
NFL.com wrote.
"It's a wonder he wasn't ruined, but Pederson found a way to flip the switch on his massively framed signal-caller who grew more decisive, lessened off-kilter lobs and punctured defenses with his legs in colder weather. The tier above Lawrence won't budge, but they'll make room for his entrance if he continues to rise."
Below is where NFL.com has ranked Lawrence each week this season; a lull in the middle of the season after an early jump, presented by a rise over the last few weeks.

In 17 starts in 2022, Lawrence completed 387 of 584 passes for 4,113 yards and 25 TDs. His 387 completions were the most in a single season in franchise history and his five rushing TDs were tied with Garrard for the most in single-season franchise history.
Lawrence joined Bengals QB Joe Burrow and Bills QB Josh Allen as the only players in the NFL with 25-plus passing TDs and at least five rushing TDs. Against the Titans in Week 14, Lawrence set a career high with 368 yards passing and was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance.
The second-year quarterback totaled four 300-yard passing games and orchestrated three comebacks of 17-plus points, including a comeback from behind 27-0 in the postseason against the Chargers. In two postseason contests, Lawrence completed 52 of 86 passes for 505 yards and five touchdowns and five interceptions.
“It feels good, just the foundation that we have here, that we set this season and last offseason, knowing that I’m going to be in the same system, all those things moving forward, I’m really excited to have that experience and have all this tape to learn from and so many things," Lawrence said at the end of the season.
"As many things that we did good this year, there’s a lot of things that we can do better and just the improvements that we can make. That’s really exciting moving forward that I don’t have to have a new offense and just have that stability. It’s really exciting for myself, for all our guys on offense. It’s really exciting.”
