Jacksonville DL Calais Campbell returns to practice as others remain sidelined
Fresh off of one of their worst performances in recent memory, the Jacksonville Jaguar defense took another hit on Wednesday when two of of their most important players, defensive end Yannick Ngakoue and defensive lineman Calais Campbell didn't practice.
While Campbell was held out of Wednesday's practice with a foot injury, he returned to the practice field in a limited capacity on Thursday, giving optimism for his availability against the Houston Texans on Sunday.
While Campbell returned on Thursday, Ngakoue was held out of practice for a second consecutive day with a hamstring injury. While the players are banged up, Jaguars defensive coordinator Todd Wash still seems optimistic about their chances to play against Houston.
"Yeah, I do," Wash said Thursday when asked if he expects Ngakoue and Campbell to be ready to go on Sunday.
Other plays held out of practice on Thursday were tight end Josh Oliver and offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi, each with hamstring injuries. Neither of the two has practiced since the regular season began.
