Jaguars Designate Parker Washington to Return From Injured Reserve

The Jaguars could be getting healthier at the wide receiver position.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without star return man Jamal Agnew for the foreseeable future due to a shoulder injury he sustained in Week 10, but they might be getting a replacement back on the field.

The Jaguars officially designated wide receiver Parker Washington to return from injured reserve on Wednesday, opening a 21-day window for Washington to return after a knee injury in Week 4.

Washington has appeared in just one game this year and sustained a knee injury on his first punt return.

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said on Wednesday that Agnew would miss Week 11 vs. the Tennessee Titans and potentially more games beyond that. Washington has chance to play as early this Sunday, Pederson said.

Picked with the No. 185 pick in the sixth-round, Washington was a surprising draft weekend slide. Now, he will have a chance to make a rookie impact.

A four-star recruit in the 2020 class, Washington (5-foot-9, 204 pounds) was a three-year starter at Penn State, appearing in 32 games and starting 24. In three years, Washington caught 146 passes for 1,920 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Washington started all nine games in 2020, being named a freshman All-American as he caught 36 passes for 489 yards and six touchdowns. He appeared in 13 games in 2021, starting seven and catching 64 passes for 820 yards and four touchdowns.

Washington returned in 2022, appearing in 10 games and starting eight as he led the team in receiving with 46 catches for 611 yards and two touchdowns.
