The Jacksonville Jaguars have somewhat of a chance of star cornerback Jalen Ramsey suiting up against the New Orleans Saints and All-Pro wide receiver Michael Thomas on Sunday after the team ruled him as questionable for Sunday's game.

Ramsey has missed each of the last two games with a back injury and missed seven consecutive practices with the injury (in addition to the flu and the birth of his second child). Ramsey returned to practice for the first time in a limited capacity on Wednesday and has been limited throughout the week.

"He's been able to progress a little bit," Marrone said. "He's out there working hard trying to get more and more done each day. Today we got a little bit more done than yesterday. So we're just taking it step by step."

Marrone said the All-Pro cornerback, who requested a trade from the team following a week 2 loss to the Houston Texans, will receive treatment on Friday and Saturday, leaving the door open for him to play Sunday.

"He'll get treatment again today. He's up to date with the plan, so then he'll come in and we'll try to do some work again (Saturday) and just keep working it. Just keep doing the best job we can," Marrone said. "He's doing a good job, working hard with the plan, doing whatever we're asking him to do. We're trying to get it where he can get out there and play."

Ramsey saw a back specialist in Houston on Monday at the team's request after he had been dealing with a nagging back injury since Jacksonville's week 3 victory against the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 19.

But in one of the more interesting twists in the seemingly never-ending Ramsey saga, Jaguars owner Shad Khan revealed in an interview with Katherine Ross of TheStreet that he thinks the team's disgruntled star will play against the Saints.

"I think, you know, he is going to be playing this week. So hopefully you will tune into the Saints game," Khan said.

Khan said he and Ramsey had a "heart-to-heart" during a meeting earlier this week. Ramsey, however, is still not guaranteed to be available.
