Report: Belief Is ‘No Major Injury’ for Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence

The Jaguars quarterback injured his knee with a little over three minutes left in Sunday's win over the Colts.

The Jacksonville Jaguars held their collective breaths on Sunday when franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence went down with a late knee injury, but it appears the third-year passer avoided significant injury.

"Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence has an MRI on his knee, but he's currently described as day-to-day, source said," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Monday morning. "The belief is no major injury for Lawrence, who finished the game. It's a quick turnaround for Thursday, but the hope is he's OK for it."

Lawrence left Sunday's 37-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts with a knee injury after rolling out and taking a sack with just over 3:00 left in the game, but the third-year signal-caller said after the game that he was "feeling OK."

"I'm going to get it checked out tonight and see kind of what's going on. I feel pretty good. I'm walking around all right. Can't really say much now. Want to make sure everything is checked out before," Lawrence said after the game.

"Yeah, just felt something, you know, just some discomfort in my knee when I went down. I don't know if it was twisted or landed on or what. I kind of felt it right away. Put a little pressure on it. Realized I could get up. So I was just trying to get up and get off the field. Yeah, that's all it was there."

Lawrence has never missed a start in his career, bouncing back from a toe injury vs. the Detroit Lions last year and not missing any future games. He will now have just a few days to get ready for Week 7, though, with the Jaguars set to play the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football.

With this in mind, the Jaguars' locker room was seemingly unanimous in their lack of concern over their quarterback's injury, suggesting he should likely be good to go in the Jaguars' attempt to improve to 5-2.

"No, not at all. He is tough and I know he is dealing with whatever he is dealing with, but I’m pretty sure he will be alright," Jaguars wide receiver Christian Kirk said.
