Trevor Lawrence: 'I Felt 100% Comfortable Moving Around' in Last 2 Games

The knee injury seems to be a distant part of the Jaguars' 2023 season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars' offense has exploded over the last two weeks.

The Jaguars are averaging 29.0 points per game over the last two games, with quarterback Trevor Lawrence scoring six touchdowns (three passing, three rushing) in that span.

And as it turns out, the answer for the dramatic offensive turnaround is likely simpler than people think: Lawrence is finally healthy after a Week 6 knee injury that hampered his mobility and, to a greater degree, the way the Jaguars scheme their passing game.

"I'm feeling a lot better thankfully. It doesn't bother me as much to move around. It's more of just a kind of precautionary thing you just don't want to get rolled up on and kind of reinjure the knee," Lawrence said this week on The Rich Eisen Show.

"So this point, it's feeling good, like the last couple of weeks, I think really the Tennessee game and this last week in Houston, I felt 100% comfortable moving around and just playing normal. So those are the first two weeks in a while that I felt that way."

A healthy Lawrence simply changes the landscape of the Jaguars' offense. He picked up rushing yards in Week 7 with the knee injury, but that was because the New Orleans Saints' man coverage scheme allowed him easy rushing lanes. Otherwise, he has been limited in terms of movement, which constricted the Jaguars' ability to use play-action and move Lawrence out of the pocket, where he is arguably at his best.

That has changed over the last two weeks, though, and Lawrence has been arguably the NFL's top passer in that span as a result.

"So that's exciting, you know, for the stretch that we got ahead of us that I can feel that way because there's nothing worse than feeling like you can't necessarily do everything and react the way you want to in games. That's that's not a good feeling, especially as a quarterback," Lawrence said.
