The New York Jets are all-in on winning a Super Bowl with Aaron Rodgers as their starting quarterback. Even though Rodgers one played in a few snaps last season due to a torn Achilles, optimism is once again shining over in East Rutherford, New Jersey simply because the future Hall of Famer is their quarterback.

New York addressed multiple needs this offseason already, most notably along the offensive line with Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses. However, there’s still a void for the Jets on the offensive end.

Outside of star receiver Garrett Wilson, plus versatile running back Breece Hall, does New York have any other reliable pass-catchers? Since the answer is nowhere close to a firm yes, the Jets would be wise to add one at No. 10 overall.

In a new mock draft conducted by Pro Football Focus, the Jets selected one of their most popular targets lately in the first round: Georgia tight end Brock Bowers.

“Even after adding Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses this offseason, it would still make sense for the Jets to select an offensive tackle with this pick, given both players are older and aren’t under contract past this season,” PFF’s Max Chadwick wrote. "With that said, the Jets’ Super Bowl window is closing rapidly with a 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers as their starting quarterback. Giving him the greatest tight end in college football history would help maximize that window and fix what was the least productive slot receiver room in the league last season.”

Would Bowers be the ideal piece needed for the Jets offense to rise to even higher levels? It’s been a very long time since New York ever had a tight end in a similar ilk as Bowers. During his collegiate career at Georgia, Bowers racked up 2,538 yards on 75 receptions, including 26 touchdowns.

The 2024 NFL Draft takes place April 25-27 on ESPN and NFL Network.
