New York Jets Reveal New Uniform Unveiling Date
The New York Jets will apparently make filing your taxes a little more festive. According to a Sunday report from SportsLogos.net, the team will unveil their new logo and uniforms on April 15.
Big changes are coming to the Jets this season, with the (fingers crossed) return of quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the additions of offensive lineman Tyron Smith, receiver Mike Williams and edge rusher Haason Reddick. But not only to how they play, but how they look.
In addition to the "Legacy White" throwback uniforms worn last season, the Jets will add a green home jersey and a black alternate jersey in the same style. The uniforms are based on the look used by the franchise from 1978-89.
The team is also expected to alter its primary logo, which was featured on the helmet of last season's throwback look and was used 1978-97.
Fans that have been yearning for another Jets Super Bowl since 1969 have also been clamoring for a move to a retro uniform in recent years.
The new logo is expected to return to the roots of the “Jets” name by including the iconic airplane, which has been missing since the late 1990s.
