Jets QB Trevor Siemian (ankle) ruled out after brutal blow by Browns DE Myles Garrett

A late Myles Garrett hit forced an early exit for the Jets quarterback.

Just when it appeared things couldn't get any worse for the Jets, disaster struck just before halftime.

With 7:58 left to play in the second quarter, Jets quarterback Trevor Siemian was driven into the turf on a late hit from Browns defensive end Myles Garrett. Siemian was ruled out for the rest of the game.

Luke Falk -- called up off the practice squad hours before the contest -- proceeded to lead the offense on their first scoring drive, which culminated in a 46-yard Sam Ficken field goal.

Prior to the injury, Siemian struggled to climb the pocket and establish a rapport with his pass catchers, going 3 for 6 for 3 yards.

Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) was also ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Already without starter Sam Darnold, who is sidelined with mono, Siemian's injury leaves them razor thin at the quarterback position.
