CBS 'A' Crew Assigned to Jets' Next Game vs. Bills
It'll be a must-win situation for both the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills in Week 11 and CBS has assigned its "A" team to the Sunday afternoon broadcast.
As the two AFC East rivals kick off at 4:25 pm ET on November 19, Jim Nantz (play-by-play), former NFL quarterback Tony Romo (analyst) and Tracy Wolfson (sideline) will call the game live in Orchard Park. Nantz, Romo and Wolfson are atop the CBS's NFL announcing tandem depth chart, assigned weekly to the network's marquee matchup.
The CBS crew has already announced two of the Jets' nine games this season but has not seen Gang Green since Week 3. The Jets are 0-2 in those games, dropping a 30-10 road contest to the Dallas Cowboys on September 17 followed by a 15-10 setback to the New England Patriots at MetLife Stadium on September 24.
Jets' quarterback Zach Wilson has struggled with Nantz and Romo in the building. The former No. 2 overall draft pick has recorded a 47.6 completion percentage and only one touchdown pass over the two games.
Wilson and the Jets have been in the spotlight for much of the 2023 season. Top network announcer tandems have covered six Jets' games thus far.
NBC's featured crew headlined by Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth called the Week 4 home game against Kansas City and the Week 10 road win over Las Vegas.
The two Monday Night Football appearances (Weeks 1, 9) brought ESPN's Joe Buck and Troy Aikman to MetLife Stadium for battles against the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Chargers.
The Jets have two more standalone primetime games on their remaining schedule. The franchise will host the Miami Dolphins in the NFL's first-ever Black Friday Game on November 24 at 3:00 pm ET on Prime Video. Then, it's a Week 17 road game against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football (Dec. 28). The TNF game is subject to NFL flex scheduling until 28 days prior to kickoff.
The Jets (4-5) and the Bills (5-5) are currently on the outside looking in on a crowded AFC Playoff picture. Gang Green can sweep the regular season series by posting a win in Week 1. The Jets triumphed over the Bills, 22-16, in the Monday Night Football season opener thanks to an overtime punt return touchdown by undrafted rookie Xavier Gipson. New York safety Jordan Whitehead intercepted Bills' quarterback Josh Allen three times in the win.
