Free-Agent Receiver Recipe: OBJ to NYJ?
Maybe a solution to the New York Jets' lack of playmaking receivers is a homecoming, of sorts.
The Jets need a big-play receiver opposite of Garrett Wilson. New York loves it some drama, along with a good tale of redemption. And look how the Baltimore Ravens just cut ...
Sure enough, Odell Beckham Jr.
Having resurrected his career after a torn ACL and stints with four teams, the 31-year-old might be happy to return to where it started for him. In New York. Then: Giants. Now: Jets?
According to The Athletic, Beckham will soon become an restricted free agent, likely designated as a post-June 1 cut by the Ravens after a decent season in 2023. After winning a Super Bowl with the Rams, he joined Baltimore and caught 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns.
Not eye-popping, but enough to prove he still has something left in the tank. It was his most receiving yards since he 1,035 during his first year wit the Cleveland Browns in 2019.
Will Jets Prioritize Receiver After Trade for Ravens' Right Tackle?
A year ago Beckham was also linked to the Jets, and he even expressed a desire to return to New York. A one-year contract seems to make sense, on many fronts.
The Kansas City Chiefs are also expected to have interest in OBJ.
