Javelin Guidry is back for a second stint with the New York Jets.

After the Atlanta Falcons released the 5-foot-9 cornerback, Gang Green signed him off waivers in May. Guidry, who played in four games for the Las Vegas Raiders during the 2022 regular season, inked a reserve/futures contract with the Falcons this past January.

Guidry, who turns 25 years old next month, initially entered the league as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2020. He tested well at the NFL Combine, running a blazing fast 4.29-second 40-yard dash and putting up 21 reps on the 225-pound bench press.

Guidry played 11 games (2 starts) for the Jets as a rookie, accounting for 22 tackles and four forced fumbles.

Active for all 17 games in 2021, the Utah product totaled 486 snaps for Robert Saleh's defense. Guidry, who was on field for 41 percent of defensive plays, made 48 stops and was charged with allowing three touchdowns in pass coverage.

Having upgraded their secondary with the additions of Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed, the Jets bumped Guidry off the roster at the conclusion of the 2022 NFL Preseason. He proceeded to pass through four different organizations before eventually landing with Gang Green again.

Guidry has averaged 8.2 special teams plays per game over 32 career NFL appearances. As one of 10 cornerbacks on the 90-man roster, his best chance to stand out may be on specials.
