Pratt-Fall? New York Jets Visit Pro Day For Under-The-Radar NFL Draft QB

Despite a strong college run, Tulane's Michael Pratt isn't seen as a top quarterback prospect. That doesn't mean a team like the New York Jets won't be interested.

The New York Jets may not be interested in jumping in for one of the top quarterbacks of the 2024 class, but that doesn't mean they'll be ignoring the position entirely in April.

During league meetings on Monday, both Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas touted the team's ability to be "flexible" on draft night as a sign that the Jets might be interested in addressing the position later on. Available names like Spencer Rattler and Jordan Travis are some that come to mind after strong Pro Days and college film.

It sounds like we can add Tulane's Michael Pratt to that list as well.

As first reported by Antwan Staley of the New York Daily News, a Jets contingent was at Tulane's Pro Day to scout the 22-year-old signal caller. Jeff Duncan of Nola.com stated that Pratt was"lighting it up" during workouts.

Despite perceived popularity, Pratt's NFL Draft profile ranks him as a late-round career backup quarterback on a given team. His leadership skills are excellent, and has solid accuracy, but struggles when pushing the ball downfield. His lack of mistakes in college are a sign of a quarterback willing to take sacks instead of putting the ball in harm's way.

Pratt's skill set helped Tulane not only enter the top 25 in back-to-back years but has also edged out a Cotton Bowl win over USC, and an appearance in the Military Bowl the following year. As a day three player, Pratt could be the kind of quarterback the Jets look to target to try and build behind four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers.

With plenty of starting experience under his belt, and a perceived interest in his Pro Day, it shouldn't come as a surprise if the Jets were to take a flier on the Tulane star once made available.
