Aaron Rodgers Goes Back to Cali, Runs into NBA Star
The scene has shifted from the Garden State to the Golden State, but Aaron Rodgers's offseason work continues.
"I’m going to get back to the West Coast and get with my workout folks out there," said Rodgers on the final day of voluntary springtime practices.
The New York Jets' new quarterback, who went back to Cali following the completions of OTAs in Florham Park, was photographed at Proactive Sports Performance in Westlake Village, CA on Monday.
Appearing in an Instagram post by @proactivesp, Rodgers stood next to NBA star Kevin Durant at the elite training facility.
Using his @aaronrodgers12 account, the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback liked the Instagram photo and used the story function to share the post with his followers.
Rodgers will have to return to New Jersey by July 19 for the start of training camp. The Jets' have an earlier start date than usual due to their participation in the Hall of Fame Game on August 3.
"We have the first preseason game that everybody loves, the Hall of Fame Game, which means we come back a week early," said Rodgers. "So, giving us some more time out of the building I think is really important, for guys to at least take a week to vacation to clear their head before they get back into their schedule of off-season training."
The 39-year old Rodgers, who officially became a Jet on April 26, attended all 10 OTAs practices in what was a shift from his initial intention.
"I originally planned on being back on the West Coast for at least a week to get with my bodywork people and my trainers," said Rodgers. "But when I hurt my calf, it was best that I was here the entire time rehabbing and just being around the guys."

Rodgers took advantage of his time in the New York metropolitan area, attending numerous high profile sporting events and concerts.
"It made for a lot of opportunities for some get togethers in the city, obviously Taylor Swift concert, we had some good team dinners and a lot of hangout time, so that was good," said Rodgers, who also scored tickets to an Ed Sheeran show and the Broadway musical "Wicked."
