The New York Jets filled the lone open spot on their 53-man roster while also making a Practice Squad swap on Wednesday.

After placing three players on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, and subsequently signing defensive tackle Tanzel Smart and offensive tackle Dennis Kelly to the active roster, the Jets plucked a familiar face off the Cowboys' Practice Squad. Offensive lineman Chris Glaser, who was a Green & White P-Squad member a few weeks ago before spending a short time in Dallas, rejoins the Jets' organization as the 53rd man on the roster.

Glaser, whose Cowboys' tenure lasted only one week, is an interior offensive lineman with snapping experience. With rookie Joe Tippmann already out, and Connor McGovern and Wes Schweitzer leaving the game due to injury, the Jets were forced to finish their Week 8 win with gameday callup Xavier Newman at center. McGovern and Schweitzer have since landed on IR.

"Obviously, we brought (Chris) Glaser back, he knows how to snap," said Jets' third-year head coach Robert Saleh prior to Wednesday's walk-through practice in Florham Park.

Glaser, a four-year college starter at guard for Virginia, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent signing by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022. He played in four preseason games for the Jets this past summer before joining Gang Green's Practice Squad on September 22. Glaser was a gameday elevation in Weeks 3 and 4 but was subsequently released on October 3.

In another move on Wednesday, the Jets made a change to their 16-member P-Squad by re-adding defensive tackle Bruce Hector and simultaneously releasing defensive end Elerson Smith.

Hector signed with the Jets after the Hall of Fame Game. The former XFL star made 2.0 sacks in the against the New York Giants in the preseason finale but missed the final cut. Hector inked a Practice Squad deal with the Houston Texans on September 13 and was released two weeks later.

Smith spent 20 days on the Jets' Practice Squad after joining on October 11. The former Giants' fourth-round draft pick has played in eight regular season NFL games.
