The Detroit Lions will begin offseason workouts in just a couple of weeks.

Ahead of the draft, Detroit's roster will be limited to meetings, strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation only.

According to the NFL's official announcement, "Phase One consists of the first two weeks of the program with activities limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only. Phase Two consists of the next three weeks of the program. Phase Three consists of the next four weeks of the program. Teams may conduct a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity, or 'OTAs'. No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are permitted."

On-field workouts can include individual or group instruction and drills, as well as “perfect play drills,” and drills and plays with offensive players lining up across from offensive players and defensive players lining up across from defensive players, conducted at a walk-through pace.

No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted.

Head coach Dan Campbell indicated in a recent interview on the team's website the organization is ready to enter into phase 2 of the rebuilding plan.

"We've kind of gotten through one phase of this, it's time to start phase 2," said Campbell. "I think phase 2, now, is all about getting what we all want to get too -- and that’s getting a trophy. And once you get a trophy, how many can you get?

“Believe me, I was, I love what we did last year. We did accomplish some great things, but I also can’t really go there. What pulls at me more is -- I want to overcome. I want to overcome the loss. I want to get back and then surpass where we were last year. I want to prove that we can do that," Campbell continued. "And so more than, look what we did to get here, I’m so much more focused on wanting to get over the hurdle. I want to get over that hurdle, I want to beat the next one.”
