'We're Good': Goff Not Concerned St. Brown Missed Workout
The Detroit Lions did not have one key offensive contributor on the first day of offseason workouts that began Monday.
Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was reportedly not at the team's Allen Park facility on the first day of voluntary workouts.
When asked about the star receivers absence, quarterback Jared Goff expressed that the pair spend a lot of time together working out together. Both reside in California during the NFL offseason.
"We work together a ton in the offseason. We’re both in L.A. during the time off and have a great rapport," Goff said. "So yeah, we’re good.”
The veteran signal-caller expressed he is fond of the offseason workout program, as the time together with teammates can serve as another opportunity to continue to grow and develop bonds.
"It’s exciting. It’s fun to be back. I always love being back for this time of year," Goff explained. "It’s just fun to be around the guys and be able to work out and be able to be around the training staff and everybody.
"It’s a little more relaxed in early April. You’re still working hard but you’re able to hang out with the guys away from the building and build some camaraderie in that way, enjoy some time together. It’s fun.”
The reason that St. Brown, a 2021 fourth-round selection, was not available on Monday has yet to be reported.
The 24-year-old wideout is eligible for a massive contract extension this offseason, especially coming off the heels of a second-consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season and 10 touchdowns.
