The Detroit Lions plan to unveil new uniforms ahead of the 2024 season, and the first look at them could be coming soon.

Team president Rod Wood confirmed that the organization plans to unveil the team’s new attire before the Draft, which is scheduled for April 25 in Detroit. Prior to Monday, little was known about when the Lions could be updating their jerseys.

According to a source familiar with the situation, the Lions are planning a uniform reveal event on Thursday, April 18.

The Lions have worn the same uniforms since making the change in 2017, when they began donning a redone Lions logo in addition to redesigned jerseys.

Wood first teased the potential of new uniforms during an interview with the Detroit Free Press ahead of the 2023 campaign. He had said that the organization was planning a new look for the 2024 season.

On Monday, he confirmed that was indeed the case. The organization has been eligible for a redesigned logo since 2022, but has yet to do so. The organization did unveil an alternate logo on its Honolulu blue alternate helmets last season.

The Lions' 2024 Draft hats were recently released, potentially hinting at the color scheme of the new uniforms.

Since getting new digs in 2017, the Lions have traditionally operated with a Honolulu blue home jersey and a white away jersey. That year, they also introduced their grey color rush outfits. The team has also worn a Honolulu blue alternate jersey during Thanksgiving games.
