Sneak Peek: Lions Release New Uniform Teaser
The much-anticipated release of the new Detroit Lions uniform takes place this week.
Ahead of the season-ticket member event Thursday at Ford Field, the team released a short video online that gave a sneak peek of what the new uniform could look like.
The video features a helmet with blue and white stripes, blue pants and a different lettering style.
Players have been asked this week during offseason workouts if they have had the opportunity to see the new uniform and what there initial thoughts were.
While the details are being kept quiet ahead of the reveal, it is clear the roster is impressed with the changes.
“I haven’t. I’ve tried to get (Director of Football Communications) Eamonn (Reynolds) to send me pictures and he won’t do it," said Taylor Decker. "I’ve got a little bit of a description, so I think I know what they’re gonna look like. But I’m excited. I think they’re gonna look great, and I know the fans are gonna be excited about them. It’ll be cool.”
Detroit's veteran offensive lineman joked the skill players will appreciate the uniforms more than linemen.
“I’m sure the skill guys are a little more excited than the big guys. Hopefully there’s a little more elasticity. It’s fun," said Decker. "Guys go out on game day, they want to look good because of the saying, 'Look good, play good thing'. So you want to have cool uniforms. I think it’s gonna be another fun aspect moving forward. I’m excited, it’s gonna be fun.”
