Amon-Ra St. Brown Snubbed From ESPN's Wide Receivers Rankings
Amon-Ra St. Brown was not listed by NFC executives, scouts and personnel staffers as being one of the top wideouts in the NFL.
Outside of the offensive line, members of the Detroit Lions roster did not rank too highly in the annual list of top players.
Quarterback Jared Goff recently received an honorable mention, but the talented wideout only "received votes" by those polled.
Those listed as honorable mentions included Deebo Samuel, Mike Evans, Tee Higgins, Garrett Wilson, Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith.
In 2022, the former Trojans wideout secured 106 receptions, 1,161 yards and six touchdowns.
What has been a staple of St. Brown's game has been his ability to secure yards after the catch.
In his sophomore campaign, St. Brown recorded an average of 5.1 yards after the catch, ranking 14th.
Despite still not receiving league-wide recognition, the talented wideout has earned the confidence of his teammates.
Cornerback Jerry Jacobs believes that St. Brown will have another solid season, especially since the 23-year-old has such a solid rapport with quarterback Jared Goff.
“Amon-Ra St. Brown, just because of the way he worked, he had two great seasons coming off of what he did,” Jacobs recently said on the ESPY's red carpet. “They don’t think he’s going to come back and do it three years in a row, and I think he’ll be able to do it with the quarterback we have.”
Look for St. Brown to become more involved in the deep-passing game this season and to continue his route-running development, as the coaching staff is emphasizing running crisper routes and not having any wasted movements.
