Best Bet: Jameson Williams Shines in Primetime against Cowboys
The Detroit Lions' offense has a higher level of production it can reach when utilizing wide receiver Jameson Williams.
The second-year wideout has seen his usage increase in recent weeks. He's totaled nine catches in his last two games, after having just 13 in the previous 11. Heading into Saturday night's matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, Williams may be a focal point of the gameplan as the Lions look to be explosive.
Play Michigan leader writer Drew Ellis believes Williams will have a significant impact in Saturday's matchup.
"The Detroit Lions step into a big challenge on Saturday night, facing a Dallas Cowboys team that has looked like a juggernaut at home," Ellis told All Lions. "If the Lions are going to succeed, they will need to continue to rack up chunk plays on offense when given the opportunity. That’s where Jameson Williams comes into play."
Williams has caught 22 passes for 285 yards and two touchdowns this season. Additionally, his 19-yard touchdown run against the New Orleans Saints is evidence of his ability as a runner.
With the Lions utilizing him in unique ways, he is a threat to reach the end zone every time he touches the ball.
"Williams has clearly earned the trust of Ben Johnson and Jared Goff, as he’s been targeted 13 times in the last two games," Ellis said. "Not only is Williams improving as a pass-catcher, but he remains capable of breaking out for a touchdown anytime he touches the ball. With his abilities as an NFL receiver improving, along with him remaining a threat to get an occasional carry, I like Williams to get at least 32 combined receiving and rushing yards (-115) on Saturday night."
