Dan Campbell: Brian Branch Injury Does Not Appear 'Too Serious'
The Detroit Lions had a couple of players banged up following their victory in Week 4 at Lambeau Field.
Left tackle Taylor Decker battled through an ankle sprain, drawing praise from quarterback Jared Goff.
“Taylor Decker, banged up, he deserved a hell of a lot of credit for being out there tonight and fighting his ass off and doing his thing. He doesn’t get maybe the credit he deserves sometimes at left tackle for us, for what he’s done," Goff said, via the team's social media channel. "Obviously, the other guys did their things too, but thinking about him and his battle, it was pretty impressive.”
Brian Branch injured his right ankle and left the game for a period of time, but was able to return
After being taped up heavily, the talented rookie was again forced to come off the field.
Head coach Dan Campbell was asked about both Friday, speaking to reporters via teleconference.
"Feel like we got out of the game pretty good with Decker," said Campbell. "Doesn't appear to be anything too serious with Branch. But there again, don't know how he's going to feel until we get going when we get back this week. So, I don't really, I don't really have anything."
Campbell continued, "Decker did a heck of a job, by the way. He was not 100%. And man, he helped us win that game. And talk about being unselfish and just giving us what he's got. He battled over there, man. We appreciate the hell out of him."
Packers coach acknowledges Lions dominated
Matt LaFleur acknowledged, after being defeated 34-20, “Give Detroit credit. We knew they were a tough opponent, but they manhandled us really in every phase.”
One reporter upset the Packers' coach, choosing to ask what contributed to the Packers slow start to the game.
“I mean, you saw it. We got our ass kicked,” LaFleur said, when asked about falling behind so quickly in the first half. “If I knew, it wouldn’t have happened. It wasn’t good enough. They whipped us. They manhandled us. Again, if I knew the answer to that, it wouldn’t have happened.”
