The Detroit Lions have brought back a familiar face at the wide receiver position.

According to NFL Media, Marvin Jones Jr., who played in Detroit from 2016-2020, is returning to Motown for the 2023 season.

The contract is reportedly a one-year deal worth $3 million, which includes incentives that could push the value up to a total of $5 million.

After a solid stint in Motown, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed the veteran wideout to a two-year contract worth $13.5 million.

In Detroit, Jones played at a high level, averaging nearly 58 receptions, 860 yards and seven touchdowns each season.

After Detroit general manager Brad Holmes indicated the team could still add talent in free agency, head coach Dan Campbell expressed at the league meetings that the team was in search of a wideout to replace DJ Chark, who signed with the Carolina Panthers.

"Yeah, I would say so. I think it would be nice to find another guy that can help us out there," Campbell said. "I would say our eyes are there. We do have eyes there, somehow, some way. But yeah, we'll miss Chark. He's another one. He brought something to us that was a little different than the rest of them. So yeah, I think that's a fair assessment."
