Early Detroit Lions 2023 Projected Win Total Released

Read more on the win total projected for the Detroit Lions in 2023.
In this story:

The Detroit Lions have extensively upgraded their roster via free agency this offseason. And they've especially done a solid job of adding talent to their defensive backs room, via the signings of C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Cameron Sutton and Emmanuel Moseley.

Several national media pundits have taken notice of the quality work done by Detroit general manager Brad Holmes, and have declared the Lions as one of the winners of free agency.

It didn't take long for Vegas to also take notice.

It has since placed the Lions' projected win total for the 2023 season at nine-and-a-half games. Specifically, the odds are placed at -125 for over nine-and-a-half wins and at +105 for under that win total.

In stark contrast, Detroit, coming off a 3-13-1 2021 campaign, was projected to win just six-and-a-half games going into the 2022 season. The Lions ended up exceeding that mark, with a 9-8 finish to the season.

Joining Detroit at over/under nine-and-a-half wins for 2023 are the N.Y. Jets, the New Orleans Saints, the Dallas Cowboys, the Miami Dolphins, the L.A. Chargers and the Cleveland Browns.

The reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, the Cincinnati Bengals and the San Francisco 49ers are tied for the highest over/under win total at 11.5 games.

Meanwhile, the Houston Texans and the Arizona Cardinals sit in dead last, with an over/under mark of just five-and-a-half wins.
