Detroit vs. Everybody: 87 Percent of NFL Experts Pick Lions to Win

Can the Lions finally defeat the Seahawks?

The Detroit Lions are 4.5-point favorites to defeat the Seattle Seahawks at Ford Field.

After the NFL world witnessed Dan Campbell's squad defeat the Kansas City Chiefs on the road, many have decided that Ford Field and Detroit's young roster will be too formidable for the Seahawks.

Fans have been unable to contain their excitement since training camp started. For the first time in Ford Field's history, all season ticket memberships were sold, producing a waiting list.

Recall, the Los Angeles Rams were able to soundly defeat Pete Carroll's squad last week, in a game that ended up not being all that competitive.

According to NFL Pickwatch, 87 percent of NFL analysts are picking the Lions to defend their home field with a victory in Week 2.

Interestingly, many fans do not think the Lions game this week will be all that competitive, given the elevated amount of momentum the team has, given their upset win against the Chiefs.

The Seahawks have defeated the Lions the past two years, with last year's game raising a significant amount of alarms, as the Geno Smith-led offense did not punt once while scoring 48 points.

According to Sports Illustrated, "Not only did the Seahawks beat the Lions last season, but they’ve done so in eight of their last 10 meetings against them and four of the last five matchups. Detroit also hasn’t performed well against the NFC West overall, losing four of their last five games against those opponents. Even if the Lions do break that trend, we’re expecting more of a three-point, last-minute type of victory.”
