Fans React to Second Straight Playoff Win: Lions Are Team of Destiny

The Lions are captivating NFL fans and their own supporters.

The Detroit Lions have now won two consecutive playoff games during the 2023 NFL season.

Three years ago, the franchise embarked on a journey to again rebuild its image, as the Matt Patricia-Bob Quinn regime turned out to be a complete disaster.

There was a clear disconnect between the football operations and the rest of the organization, as secrecy and a lack of inclusion made it difficult for the franchise to pull in the same direction.

Sheila Hamp's clear vision, when she took over the franchise as the principal owner, was to change the culture, both on the field and inside the team's facilities.

Hiring Dan Campbell, who understood better than anyone what the fanbase was strongly and desperately clamoring for, to be the team's head coach was among many decisions intended to infuse the Lions with a clear and sustainable vision that fans could rally behind.

In three short seasons, the team went from a three-win team to being 60 minutes away from appearing in the Super Bowl, with a legitimate chance of bringing the Lombardi Trophy back to Detroit.

Supporters who watched Detroit battle the Buccaneers enjoyed a gritty, hard-fought game.

Detroit's offense executed at a very high level, seemingly scoring whenever the Bucs were gaining momentum. The defense, which has been highly scrutinized all season, forced the necessary turnovers when needed to ensure Detroit would advance.

Supporters took to social media to share their reactions and excitement for a team that resembles the makeup of its growing fanbase.

"Like this is a team of Destiny," one supporter expressed on social media. "LFG #ALLGRIT."

Another wrote, "No words. #OnePride."

Here is a sample of the reaction online to the Lions being one game away from participating in the Super Bowl.
