C.J. Gardner-Johnson sets expectations for his return.

Detroit Lions safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson is still hoping to return this season.

Unfortunately, Detroit's new safety suffered a torn pectoral during the Lions' Week 2 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Head coach Dan Campbell expressed some optimism that the former Saints and Eagles defensive back could make a return at some point this season, despite the severity of his injury.

If the Lions are able to earn a spot in the playoffs and win a game, the veteran safety could be available for the divisional round of the postseason.

"Y'all boys, stay tuned. Ya'll girls, stay tuned. Shoulder is getting better," said the veteran safety on social media. "I'm betting better. I'm telling you. Want to see that body again. I am telling ya'll, I'll be back."
