Twitter Reacts to QB Hendon Hooker Chatting with Lions

Volunteers quarterback Hendon Hooker chats with Lions at Senior Bowl.

The Detroit Lions will have an opportunity to scout and meet with several senior quarterbacks at the 2023 Senior Bowl. One of the draft prospects could eventually end up on the 2023 roster.

Executive director Jim Nagy recently shared that every year, one of the quarterbacks who participates in the practices and the Senior Bowl ends up taking a step forward in their career.

“Someone always elevates. Three years ago, Jalen Hurts was coming down to Mobile and everybody had him in the fourth or fifth round, and we saw him elevate to the second. And now in hindsight, look what Jalen’s doing," Nagy said, via Cumulus Media. “If we re-drafted the draft from a couple years ago, he’d be a top 5 pick. That’s going to be the exciting part of the week to see which guys take that step forward.”

One of the prospects who chatted with the Lions' staff on the field Tuesday was Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Hendon Hooker.

Unfortunately, the talented signal-caller suffered a season-ending tear in his anterior cruciate ligament in November of last year.

According to NFL Draft Bible, "As a passer, Hooker shows a compact release, where he uses his frame to create velocity on multiple drive throws. He displays an effortless flick of the wrist, showing off his arm talent. His ability to reach all parts of the field is uncanny, with multiple throws from the far hash into the wide part of the field. His problems align with the accuracy of his passes. Far too often Hooker misses big plays with receivers easily exploiting secondaries for 5-10 yards of separation. Hooker has overthrown multiple touchdowns on a variety of routes including posts, corners, and go routes."

Several supporters took to social media after seeing a photo posted online from the Senior Bowl.

Here is a sample of the reaction to Hooker chatting with a member of the Lions' front office.
