Aidan Hutchinson Named to NFL Top 100 List
The Detroit Lions have not fared all that well in preseason NFL rankings this year.
With Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jared Goff not being viewed as among the top 10 at their respective positions, many supporters have wondered just how the Lions would fare in the NFL's annual Top 100 list.
Aidan Hutchinson, who feels the game has slowed down for him entering his second season, became the first Lions player to secure a spot since T.J. Hockenson cracked the list at No. 93 back in 2021. Detroit's second-year EDGE rusher came in ranked at No. 88.
More familiarity with his teammates and the coaching staff have allowed the second-year defensive lineman to feel more comfortable in his second go-around at training camp.
“For sure, just from the camaraderie aspect. I mean with the D-tackles, the communication we’ve got, especially with AG back," said Hutchinson. "So, same kind of system, same kind of communication calls, stuff like that. It’s just rinse and repeat at this point."
Like many players, Detroit's former No. 2 overall pick is excited for when the pads actually come on, which is expected later this week, after a four-day acclimation period to start off training camp at the team's Allen Park practice facility.
“I can’t wait to get the pads on against other dudes,” Hutchinson said. “You go up against these same guys a million times and by the end of camp, you’re over it. You want to go against someone else. I can’t wait until Week 1. That’s what I got my eyes set on.”
