The Detroit Lions returned to the practice field Wednesday to prepare for a showdown with the Chicago Bears.

Defensive line Isaiah Buggs and left guard Jonah Jackson were not spotted at the portion of practice open to the media.

Jackson returned to action after missing Detroit's last three games. The talented lineman last appeared in Detroit's 42-24 victory against the Carolina Panthers. He revealed last week he suffered a high ankle sprain when Derrick Brown landed on him.

Detroit's Week 11 matchup against Chicago will mark Detroit's first divisional game since a Week 4 win over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The Lions and Bears will meet twice in four weeks, with a Week 14 showdown lined up in Chicago.

Detroit's roster understands the importance of winning divisional games, as the team has not won the NFC North since the 1993 season.

Notes

1.) The Lions announced they have signed long-snapper Jake McQuaide to the active roster.

2.) Campbell said offensive lineman Halapoulivaati Vaitai is "probably unlikely" to return this season with a back injury. The veteran was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. He played in six games after missing all of last season with a similar back injury.

“It is, just a residual effect of (last season's injury). Look, V, he’s unbelievable. He really is. There’s nothing easy about the injury he’s had to come back from," Campbell said. "Then he had the knee, and he’s been rehabbing this thing for a long time. He’s put in a ton of work and that’s not easy. It’s not easy at all, but he’s the type of guy, you ask him how he’s doing he always says he’s fine. That’s just him. No matter what, I told him we want him around here and he wants to be around. He’s still very much a part of us and what we are here.”
