Jameson Williams Endorses Lions Signing Lamar Jackson

Jameson Williams likes social media post about Lions signing Lamar Jackson.
In this story:

Lamar Jackson is now free to openly negotiate with any NFL team.

The Baltimore Ravens made the decision to place the non-exclusive franchise tag on the talented quarterback, allowing other teams to make offers.

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said in a statement, "There have been many instances across the league and in Baltimore when a player has been designated with the franchise tag and signed a long-term deal that same year. We will continue to negotiate in good faith with Lamar, and we are hopeful that we can strike a long-term deal that is fair to both Lamar and the Ravens. Our ultimate goal is to build a championship team with Lamar Jackson leading the way for many years to come."

Baltimore has the opportunity to match any offer sheet signed, or can choose to receive two first-round NFL draft picks.

Across the NFL, supporters are debating whether or not their favorite team should take a chance on signing the 26-year-old quarterback.

In Detroit, many are debating if Jackson is worth giving up the additional draft capital that Brad Holmes has earned since his arrival from the Los Angeles Rams.

One supporter posted online, "The Lions would be giving up #18 and a late first-round pick the next year to acquire Lamar Jackson. They have the cap flexibility to give him a 5/250 mostly guaranteed contract, with a high year-1 cap hit so the Ravens can’t match. Go make Lamar the best quarterback in the NFC."

Detroit's 2022 No. 12 overall pick, Jameson Williams, seems to have endorsed the idea, liking the post on his social media page.

Williams is entering his second season in Motown, after returning in 2022 from an ACL injury suffered at Alabama.
