'I Feel Like I'm Faster': Jameson Williams Feels Quicker Than Tyreek Hill

Is Jameson Williams faster than Tyreek Hill?

Detroit Lions wideout Jameson Williams has been steadily utilized in different ways the past few games.

Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and the coaching staff have a player that is steadily emerging and is gaining understanding of the importance of focusing on the details of his position.

One aspect of the former first-round pick's game that is jaw dropping and gives the offense an explosive component is his pure speed.

Despite hitting a top speed of 20.7 miles per hour, Williams believes he has the ability to eclipse that, if he is in open space.

Miami Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill is widely considered the fastest wideout in the NFL.

The speedy Dolphins wideout has even topped 22 mph this season.

Williams, a second-year wideout, believes he is faster than one of the NFL's top speedsters.

How Jameson Williams Opens Up Lions' Offense

"A lot of people got like one stick, and then they explode like 10, 5 yards from there," Williams said, via the Free Press. "The main guy I see though is Tyreek Hill. You could tell by how fast his legs move when he’s running. I don’t really see that a lot."

Against the Saints, Williams was the recipient of a double reverse. The 22-year-old showcased what he can accomplish with an open rushing lane, scampering 19 yards into the end zone, to help Detroit extend its lead in a close game.

"I feel like I’m faster. I feel like I’d get him. I just got to showcase it. When I get the ball in some space, I’m going to show y’all, for sure. I’m waiting on the perfect play to showcase it," Williams commented further. "It’s not like I'm out there not trying to run fast. I'm running as fast as I can. But, when I get the ball in space, I’ll open up for sure."
