Jameson Williams Likely Will Not Debut until 'Good Time after Bye'
The Detroit Lions' offense has been able to execute at a high level through the first four weeks of the 2022 NFL season.
Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has quarterback Jared Goff playing at a high level, despite dealing with a multitude of injuries to key weapons the past couple of weeks.
An exciting aspect for many supporters is the elevated level of offensive performance, despite not having one of the top collegiate wideouts who came out in the draft available to suit up.
Waiting in the wings is wideout Jameson Williams, who is still rehabbing from a torn ACL.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell expressed at his Wednesday pre-practice media session that Williams' rehabilitation and recovery process have really been "picking up" over the past three weeks.
While there still is no timetable on his return, Campbell noted it won't be until a little while after the team's bye week.
Jonah Jackson will return to practice
Campbell confirmed that Josh Paschal's and Jerry Jacobs' practice clocks have started, as both will see the practice field on Wednesday.
Despite the return of a couple of defensive players, Detroit's second-year head coach expressed that several offensive players will not participate in the team's first practice, ahead of its Week 5 contest against the Patriots.
Campbell indicated DJ Chark, Amon-Ra St. Brown and D'Andre Swift were all feeling a little better heading into the game against New England.
Guard Jonah Jackson, who has been battling a finger injury, will likely have an opportunity to practice this week for the first time in several weeks. Dan Skipper has filled in admirably the past few weeks in replacement.
Roster news
The team announced Wednesday that wide receiver Tom Kennedy has been signed to the active roster.
In corresponding moves, kicker Michael Badgley has been officially signed to the practice squad, along with wide receiver Brandon Zylstra.
