NFL Yet to Decide if Jameson Williams Can Receive Treatment at Facility
The NFL has a unique rule regarding suspended players receiving medical treatment.
“It’s a good question. Technically, no, but we’re looking into that,” Dan Campbell expressed earlier at training camp, when asked if Jameson Williams could receive treatment on his injured hamstring at the team's facility while suspended.
Campbell expressed the team would be in contact with the league office to determine what, if anything, could be done, given his unique circumstances.
As of now, the league has yet to determine if Williams can indeed continue his rehabilitation at the team's Allen Park facility during his suspension.
"No, they haven't given us anything," Campbell noted.
Despite missing practice reps and the team's final two preseason games, the expectation is the young wideout will continue his work in the film room and on the mental side of the game.
“As long as he stays on top of the mental portion of it, you can get a lot out of the mental work,” Campbell indicated. “If he grinds on that, takes care of the hamstring, we’ll take it as it comes.”
Nate Sudfeld getting second opinion on knee injury
Campbell declined to confirm if the veteran backup quarterback suffered a torn ACL in the team's preseason victory against the Carolina Panthers.
"I'm not going to confirm that," Campbell said. "He's getting a second opinion right now."
If the injury ends up being severe, it would be a tough blow for a player that was fighting for a spot on the active roster.
"If it is the deal with Nate, it's awful," said Campbell. "I hate that for him. You know, that's tough, because Nate's given us everything he's had. Came in last year and brought something to us, and somebody we were very comfortable with enough to sign it back. So, I hate that, if that's the way it goes here.
"But also have a lot of faith in Teddy, you know. And he's gotten better and better every practice, every week. So, I feel pretty good."
