Could Jared Goff be asking for a new wide receiver to be added to the room?

While there has been a fair amount of attention paid to the social media activity of wideout Jameson Williams, Detroit's veteran signal-caller could be joining in on the fun.

A recent review of Goff's Instagram page shows the 28-year-old does indeed follow free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins

The veteran wideout has been linked to several NFL teams following his release from the Arizona Cardinals.

While the Browns are the likely destination Hopkins lands, envisioning the ex-Cardinals receiver in Detroit's offense is quite intriguing.

The MMQB's Albert Breer recently spoke to several league executives who were not exactly complimentary in their opinions of what Hopkins could bring to NFL teams.

“Still great hands, he is not going to separate, not much of a deep threat, but very strong, and makes contested catches as well as anyone in the NFL,” one AFC executive told Breer. “Does not love to practice—I can’t imagine that’ll get any better. And when things don’t go well, you’re always gonna be leery, All right, what kind of drama are we gonna get from this guy? When things are great, he’s great. When things go south, his true colors show a little bit."

When Dan Campbell was asked by All Lions about any potential intrigue the team could have with Hopkins, the decision was made to punt on the question.

Detroit will take the field next week for mandatory minicamp at the team's Allen Park practice facility.
