Jared Goff Shocks Lions Fans Mentioning Controversial Musician
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has earned a significant amount of praise from supporters for accomplishing a feat no other quarterback has been able to accomplish in decades.
Appearing on 97.1 The Ticket Tuesday, Detroit's veteran signal-caller shared that he wished musician Kid Rock would attend a Lions game.
"I think the only guy, I don't know if I’ve seen him at a game yet, would be Kid Rock," said Goff. "That would be pretty fun. I think the crowd would enjoy that."
While the musician has legions of fans, he also has become a controversial and polarizing figure due to his political stances.
Fans immediately took to social media to express their uncomfortableness and slight surprise to the 29-year-old revealing his request publicly.
Goff was certainly moved by fans chanting his name and showing their support for Detroit all throughout Sunday's playoff game at Ford Field.
"That’s the greatest (crowd experience) I’ve ever been in front of," he said. "Our fans bring it, they really do. And, the challenge now will be: Can they outdo themselves this week? But, that was really unbelievable, and the support for me personally was really special."
Prior to winning the playoff game, many debated if Goff was worthy of a long-term contract extension.
Now, many are in strong agreement that the front office should make him a reasonable offer to have him remain in Motown for the foreseeable future.
He also noted during his weekly radio interview that free agents would find playing in Motown quite appealing.
"If you want to play for a real genuine dude (Dan Campbell) who cares a whole hell of a lot about his players, come over here," said Goff. "It’s a fun place to play. He keeps it fun, keeps it light, but also keeps us extremely accountable."
