Jonah Jackson, Kalif Raymond Ruled Out against 49ers
The Detroit Lions ruled two players out Friday, ahead of their NFC Championship showdown with the San Francisco 49ers.
Left guard Jonah Jackson and wide receiver Kalif Raymond will not play in Sunday's game, while cornerback Chase Lucas and quarterback Hendon Hooker are questionable.
Jackson suffered a knee injury, and underwent surgery to repair a tear in his meniscus, while Raymond has been dealing with a knee injury suffered in the regular season finale.
Lucas has been dealing with an illness, while Hooker missed practice Friday after getting a tooth pulled. Frank Ragnow, who has dealt with several injuries throughout the year, is off the injury report, and will be available Sunday, as Dan Campbell said Friday.
Outside linebacker James Houston, who was inactive last week despite being activated from injured reserve, is off the injury report. He was listed as a full participant all three days of practice this week.
The Lions have a prime opportunity to make history on Sunday, as a win would put them in the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history. It has been a quick turnaround for a team that started 1-6 last season.
Campbell discussed the impact of the team's Week 18 win at Green Bay last season, which is a game that many view as the turning point for the organization's fortunes.
"I mean, look, that was big because, for what the circumstances were. Yeah, we'd been knocked out," Campbell said. "The spotlight was, there was nothing on us, we were supposed to go lose. Nobody gave us a chance. We knew we had one more to play, and we knew we had enough. We knew we could go in there and win that game and play our game and we did that. So, I think there was a belief, just like we did all year, we put in the work, we were prepared and then we were dialed in and ready to play. And, we did that and it was significant."
