Kalif Raymond Contract Extension Details Explored

Here is a deeper look at the contract details of Detroit Lions wideout Kalif Raymond.
In this story:

Detroit Lions wideout Kalif Raymond has earned his two-year contract extension.

He is signed with Detroit through the 2025 NFL season.

The 2026 season is a voidable year, which Detroit's front office has built-in to several of its contracts in order to spread out cap liabilities.

According to the Lions' team website, "Raymond is currently in his third season with the Lions after earning an AP Second-Team All-Pro selection as a punt returner in 2022. He came to Detroit as an unrestricted free agent in the 2021 offseason and has appeared in 33 games (21 starts)."

Since 2021, the talented wideout has recorded 95 receptions for 1,192 yards and four touchdowns.

As a returner, Raymond has returned 41 punts for 500 yards and one touchdown.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell indicated that the veteran wideout is among "our guys," and felt his extension was well deserved, due to Raymond constantly proving himself on and off the field.

“I come out here every day with the same mindset. Just be the best version of myself. And honestly, I don’t think that changes,” Raymond told reporters. “I think I can still come out here, man, and just be the best man I can be, the best teammate I can be, and honestly, just keep putting my best foot forward. I think at the end of the day, the biggest thing I appreciate the most is the respect from my teammates and the trust of my coaches. And, I think no matter what, I gotta come out here every day and earn that. And, that’s my mentality.”

Here is a closer look at the financial terms of Raymond's new contract extension, according to overthecap.com.
