During Matt Patricia's weekly teleconference, he informed the media that running back Kerryon Johnson was placed on injured reserve after undergoing a procedure on his injured knee.

Johnson suffered an injury to his right knee on Sunday against Minnesota. As a result of being placed on injured reserve, he is not eligible to return to action for the next eight weeks.

Patricia noted that it will be running back by committee in the meantime. There are options if the Lions want to bring in a running back. A couple backs that could be available via trade before next week's deadline are Melvin Gordon and Kenyan Drake.
