Lions Agree to Contract Terms with OL Colby Sorsdal
After a successful 2023 NFL Draft, it is time for the Detroit Lions and their draft class to begin agreeing to rookie contracts.
According to multiple reports, offensive lineman Colby Sorsdal and the Lions have agreed to a rookie contract.
The Lions' deal for Sorsdal is reportedly a four-year, $4.16 million contract, with a signing bonus of $320,084.
Sorsdal is reportedly set to earn $830,021 his rookie season in Motown.
Rookie minicamp is scheduled to take place May 12-14 at the team's Allen Park practice facility.
According to the league's website, "Sorsdal spent his college days at tackle but will need to prepare for life as an interior lineman due to his lack of length. He is athletic with good lateral movement and fits a zone-scheme rushing attack. He lacks power and natural core strength, though. Sorsdal will need to get bigger and stronger as bull-rushers had some success bouncing him back into the pocket at times."
It is expected that Graham Glasgow and Halapoulivaati Vaitai will compete for the starting job, while Sorsdal develops during his inaugural season in the NFL.
Sorsdal played collegiately at William & Mary.
