Lions Announce Alternate Broadcast for Giants Preseason Game

The Detroit Lions announced Monday that the preseason opener against the New York Giants will feature an opportunity for fans to watch an alternate broadcast. 

According to the team website, "The alternate broadcast, using Kiswe’s cloud production, will be hosted by Peter Schrager and will include live commentary and interviews from several guests. Fans can watch the alternate broadcast via www.detroitlions.com or on the Lions Mobile App."

Recently, alternate broadcasts that feature entertaining interviews have become popular during live sporting events, giving viewers an additional method to enjoy a professional sporting event. 

"We are thrilled to produce our first ever Detroit Lions alternate broadcast with Kiswe," said Carl Moll, who serves as the Lions' director of broadcasting. "This is a great opportunity to engage fans in a new and exciting way, and we can't wait to see the final product, as well as the reaction."

Kiswe CEO Glenn Booth added, "We are excited to provide the Detroit Lions with our industry leading cloud-based production solution. Our partnership will enable the Detroit Lions to efficiently create alternate broadcasts using remote production and provide fans with engaging viewing experiences."

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, at Ford Field.
