Lions Announce Flurry of Week 6 Roster Moves
The Detroit Lions announced a flurry of roster moves ahead of Sunday's road matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Players called up from the team's practice squad for Sunday's game include running back Devine Ozigbo.
Khalil Dorsey was activated off of the injured reserve list.
Offensive lineman Dan Skipper was signed to the active roster.
In corresponding moves, cornerback Emmanuel Moseley and running back Zonovan "Bam" Knight were both placed on injured reserve.
Detroit ruled seven total players out in its Friday injury report, including key rookies Jahmyr Gibbs and Brian Branch, along with offensive lineman Jonah Jackson.
Moseley suffered a torn ACL just two snaps into his 2023 debut Sunday, while Knight suffered a shoulder injury against the Panthers, as well.
Gibbs and Branch are missing their second consecutive game, as both last played in Week 4 against Green Bay.
The Lions have been surging to start the season, despite a myriad of injuries to their core. As a result, the morale within the locker room is on the rise.
“Yeah, I mean, any time you win, it’s fun. It makes everything a little bit lighter," Campbell explained. "There’s a little more peace to it in the moment. So, yeah, everybody’s enjoying it. But, I think what you really enjoy, because you feel like you’re putting in the work and it’s paying dividends. So yeah, I think, for us, it’s every week you come in and you want more. You want to just continue to try to stack them up and get better than you were. And so, it’s a good thing right now.”
Notes
1.) According to the team, backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will travel to Tampa separately from the team. It is still expected the veteran will be on the sideline to backup veteran Jared Goff.
