Lions' Betting Odds to Make 2023 NFL Playoffs

The Detroit Lions are expected to make the playoffs in 2023.

The expectation is that the Detroit Lions will earn a spot in the postseason in the 2023 NFL season. 

According to many popular sports books, the Lions (-170) are a team that bettors are predicting will be among the teams vying for a Lombardi Trophy after a 17-game regular season. 

After upgrading its secondary, the team's defense should be able to meet the expectations of defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn. 

Detroit general manager Brad Holmes has positioned the team to add more young talent in the upcoming draft, as Detroit will again have two first-round picks.

Veteran wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. decided that a return to Detroit could result in success, due to what he witnessed when the Jaguars were soundly defeated by the Lions last season at Ford Field, 40-14. 

On the Jaguars' way to the playoffs, the loss to Detroit was the team's only blemish during the final six weeks of the season. 

"It was a kick in our butt and changed our season after that game," Jones said. "On the film, you see it. You see a good team, a well-coached team. ... There's a lot of talent. That's all I can say. There is a lot of talent. It'll be exciting just to come and add to that value."
