The Detroit Lions have lost veteran safety DeShon Elliott to the Miami Dolphins

After just one season in Motown, the veteran defensive back is reportedly signing a one-year, $1.77 million deal to join Vic Fangio's defense.

When Tracy Walker went down with a season-ending Achilles' injury, Elliott filled in admirably, especially while being paired alongside rookie Kerby Joseph

In Weeks 16 and 17, Elliott missed action, and the secondary faltered with Ifeatu Melifonwu taking over.

Prior to the season finale against the Packers, the former Lions and Ravens safety took offense to what he was hearing from the NFC North rival.

"I feel like they don’t respect us. A-Rod doesn’t respect us, that team doesn’t respect us. We’re used to being the underdog. No matter what the record says, we’re going to go out there, and we’re going to fight our ass off, play smash-mouth football, just 'cause the respect factor," Elliott said. "We all got here some way, somehow. Yeah, he’s a Hall of Famer, but I just don’t like the way he’s been talking about my guys all year and the way that team views us. So, we’re going to go out there and prove something."
