Lions Defeat Falcons in Madden 23 Simulation

The Lions knocked off Atlanta in a simulation of their Week 3 matchup.

The Detroit Lions held off the Atlanta Falcons and earned a 23-13 victory in a Madden 23 simulation of the team's impending Week 3 matchup in the upcoming season.

Its Vikk Simulations used updated rosters to create the matchup, simulating the showdown between the two teams at Ford Field.

The Lions marched down the field on the opening possession, but Jared Goff took a sack on first-and-goal. The offense was unable to recover, and the Lions were forced to settle for a 32-yard field goal from Michael Badgley.

Atlanta's first offensive series would last just two plays, as quarterback Desmond Ridder was sacked and stripped by third-year defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike. Defensive end Romeo Okwara picked up the loose ball and took it for a score to put Detroit up 10-0 early in the contest.

The Falcons answered with a sustained drive that took them all the way to Detroit's 2. However, the Lions' defense forced an incompletion, then tackled Tyler Allgeier for a loss to force a short field goal that put Atlanta on the board.

Goff led the team down the field on its final series of the half, hitting Marvin Jones Jr. for a 3-yard score to give Detroit a 17-3 advantage going into the locker room.

Atlanta marched into Detroit's red zone to begin the third quarter, but once again the defense stood tall. C.J. Gardner-Johnson broke up a pass intended for Kyle Pitts in the end zone, forcing the Falcons to settle for another field goal.

Badgley connected on a 44-yard boot to extend Detroit's lead, but Ridder kept his team within a score when he hit Drake London for a 7-yard touchdown.

Fortunately for the Lions, Goff and company wouldn't give the ball back. Badgley continued his perfect day, adding a 34-yard field goal as time expired to give Detroit the 10-point victory.

After previously defeating the Chiefs and losing to the Seahawks, Detroit's Madden simulation record improved to 2-1.
