Lions Fans React to Aaron Rodgers' Injury

NFL career of Aaron Rodgers could be over.

The NFL world and supporters of the Detroit Lions were stunned that veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers potentially suffered a potential season-ending Achilles injury in his debut for the New York Jets.

"Personally, I don't hurt for me, I don't hurt for our locker room, I hurt for Aaron and how much he has invested in all this," Robert Saleh said, after defeating the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. "I'm still going to say a prayer and hold out hope. My heart is with Aaron."

Detroit's division rival may be impacted negatively, as the Green Bay Packers 2024 conditional pick acquired from the Jets was dependent on Rodgers' overall playing time.

Had Rodgers been able to record at least 65 percent of the Jets offensive snaps, the Packers would receive a 2024 first-round pick.

If his potential Achilles injury prevents him from playing all season, the Packers would only receive a 2024 second-round pick.

Rodgers has previously dealt with a fractured collarbone back in 2013 and a fractured clavicle in 2017.

The reaction online was varying, with those instantly pointing out the Jets chances of winning the Super Bowl had diminished greatly, while others wondered if coach Robert Saleh would be advocating for the front office to go out and trade for a new backup quarterback.

Jerry Mallory noted, "Kerby Joseph could end up the last player to catch a Rodgers pass."

Here is a sample of the reaction online to Rodgers debut with the Jets being cut quite short.
