The Detroit Lions looked to be headed for a loss late Sunday. Through most of the game, both sides of the ball looked outmatched by the Chicago Bears.

After Cairo Santos connected on a field goal with 4:15 remaining, the Bears led the Lions by 12. However, Jared Goff led the offense to two touchdowns in the final minutes to steal a victory at Ford Field.

With the win, Detroit moves to 8-2 on the season, and stays in the race for the top seed in the NFC. The Philadelphia Eagles currently hold the top mark, and will try to move to 9-1 with a win against the Kansas City Chiefs Monday night.

Goff, who threw three interceptions, rebounded from his struggles to pilot the heroic comeback. He hit Jameson Williams for a 32-yard touchdown to cut the deficit to five, then led the unit to David Montgomery's eventual game-winning score.

The game-winning drive spanned 11 plays and 73 yards, ending with Montgomery's 1-yard run with 0:29 remaining. Montgomery provided the clinching score in his first game against his former team.

Detroit's defense struggled to contain Justin Fields for much of the afternoon, but bounced back in the clutch to put the offense in position to win the game.

After Detroit took the lead, Aidan Hutchinson sacked Justin Fields, and forced the game-sealing fumble. The ball eventually rolled out of the end zone, resulting in a game-clinching safety.
