Lions Have Ninth-Best Super Bowl 58 Odds

Detroit Lions open up with ninth-best odds to win Super Bowl during 2023 season.
In this story:

Super Bowl 57 has come and gone, with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs prevailing victorious in an instant classic, 38-35.

And now, the question has already become: Who is going to hoist the Lombardi Trophy at the end of next season?

To no surprise, the reigning champion Chiefs are the odds-on-favorites at +600, according to multiple sportsbooks. The Cincinnati Bengals (+850), the Buffalo Bills (+900), the Philadelphia Eagles (+900) and the San Francisco 49ers (+900) round out the top five.

Now, you may be wondering: Where do Dan Campbell and the upstart Lions sit?

Well, they've opened up with the ninth-best odds to win Super Bowl LVIII (+2500), odds which they share with the Green Bay Packers, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the N.Y. Jets.

Campbell & Co. are coming off a 9-8 season, in which they won eight of their last 10 games and finished as one of the best -- if not the best -- non-playoff teams in the entire NFL.

Subsequently, Detroit won't be able to fly under the radar in 2023, and expectations will be much higher for Campbell's team than they were a year ago. In fact, it's expected that the Lions will be picked by several pundits to win the NFC North.

If the Lions do win their division, it'll mark the first time that has occurred since the 1993 season (when the division was still called the NFC Central).

Let's take a look now at the 12 teams with the best odds to win the Super Bowl next season:

  • Kansas City Chiefs -- +600
  • Cincinnati Bengals -- +850
  • Buffalo Bills -- +900
  • Philadelphia Eagles -- +900
  • San Francisco 49ers -- +900
  • Dallas Cowboys -- +1400
  • Baltimore Ravens -- +1800
  • Los Angeles Chargers -- +2000
  • Detroit Lions -- +2500
  • Green Bay Packers -- +2500
  • Jacksonville Jaguars -- +2500
  • New York Jets -- +2500
