Lions 2023 Training Camp Details Revealed

The Lions announced their open training camp practices for the 2023 season.

The Detroit Lions announced dates for training camp practices open to the public Tuesday. The schedule includes a total of 10 dates on which fans will be able to access the Allen Park facility. 

Fans interested in attending must register for a ticket at no cost. Registration begins July 19, according to the team website. 

During these practices, fans will get their first look at a variety of newcomers. Free agent additions like C.J. Gardner-Johnson as well as rookies like Jahmyr Gibbs will be greeted by the home fans on the practice field for the first time. 

Open practices begin Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30 for what the organization has called 'Back Together Weekend.' The first of the two practice will be exclusive to Lions Loyal members only. 

In total, there are three practices exclusive to Lions Loyal members and one, on Aug. 2, limited only to early renewal Lions Loyal members. 

The Lions will host joint practices with the New York Giants and Jacksonville Jaguars during the preseason, and each will be open for fans. 

In each case, the first of two will be exclusive to Lions Loyal members while all are allowed for the second. Detroit's first five open training camp practices will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the second five beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The Lions begin the preseason at 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 11 against the New York Giants at Ford Field. Jacksonville will visit on Saturday, Aug. 19 before Detroit travels to Carolina on Friday, Aug. 25 for its preseason finale.
