Lions' Week 12 Tuesday Injury Report
The Detroit Lions have a short week on tap, as they square off with the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving.
Jonah Jackson did not practice for the second consecutive day, making it unlikely he will suit up Thursday.
With just three days to prepare, the Lions are keeping it simple in their approach toward game-planning. Time is of the essence, so this week is not the week to be adding a variety of new elements.
Instead, Campbell and his staff are going to their roots and adding to their core concepts, in preparation for a rematch of their Week 4 matchup at Lambeau Field.
"I think ultimately, you want to do a lot of things that you've hung your hat on since training camp, a lot of things that you've done throughout the season and then you'll find another way to formationally switch it up," Campbell explained. "Maybe put a different motion on it. But, a lot of the very, very unique wrinkle plays, it's hard to put those in. Because those take timing, it takes timing and a level of physicality. Particularly in the run game or play-pass or run action. So, you've got to be careful with that. It doesn't mean we won't have things like that, but most of it has got to be part of your core and what you feel like you can function at a high level."
Campbell credited his team with its ability to both learn and adapt, while staying true to its identity. With time to prepare being so crunched, a lot of what happens Sunday will be what the Lions have been building since the beginning of the season.
"These guys, they won't bat an eye at it. They've run these things, it feels like, thousands of times. And then, it's just a matter of, the mental, this is how we're gonna formulate it this week," Campbell said. "This is where you're gonna be, but it's the same plays that we've been running type of thing. I would say, traditionally, that's what most teams do, and it's about who does it better."
